Government departments

  • Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy: UK Research and Innovation – Mark Walport named as Chief Executive Designate of the new organisation.
  • Department for International Trade: UK Export Finance – Oliver Peterken joined the board as a Non-Executive Director.
  • Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs: Rural Payments Agency – Paul Caldwell named as interim Chief Executive, replacing Mark Grimshaw; Marine Management Organisation – Tony Dalahunty and Terence Jagger appointed to the board.

Non-Ministerial Departments

  • Competition and Markets Authority - Alison Gold named as a Project Director.
  • National Savings and Investments – Ian Ackerley appointed as Chief Executive.

House of Lords

  • Lord Ghadia resigned the Conservative Whip and now sits as non-affiliated.

Labour Party

  • Jo Stevens resigned her role as Shadow Secretary of State for Wales.
  • Rachael Maskell resigned her role as Shadow Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
  • Dawn Butler resigned her role as Shadow Minister for Diverse Communities.

Local Authorities

  • Angus Council – Margo Williamson appointed as Chief Executive, replacing Richard Stiff on June 1.
  • By-election Results February 3
    • East Staffordshire Borough Council – Philip Hudson elected for Town – Conservative hold.
    • Rotherham Council – Adam Carter elected for Brinsworth and Catcliffe – Liberal Democrat gain from Labour.
    • Rotherham Council – John Vjestica elected for Dinnington – Labour gain from UKIP.

Industry & interest groups

  • Royal Microscopical Society - Allison Winton appointed as Chief Executive.
  • The Central Gurdwara (British Isles) London Khalsa Jatha – The Charity Commission appointed Tom Murdoch as interim Manager.
