This free event will help senior level managers responsible for business transformation in the public sector learn about equipping their organisation for new ways of working, including:

• Collaborative working with other service and care providers;
• Remote working 

There will also be the opportunity to discuss the key issues in your sector and network with your peers during our round table discussions.

Jos Creese, former Chief Information Officer and Chief Digital Officer for Hampshire County Council, will be chairing the day and there will be speakers across central and local government who will discuss how they are managing transformation within their organisation.

9.30    Opening from event Chair Jos Creese.

Jos has over 25 years IT management experience and has recently left Hampshire County Council as interim Chief Digital Officer, moving from the CIO role he held for a decade. He has held a number of CIO roles as well as a variety of non-executive director positions. He was president of the Society of IT Management in 2010 and elected president of BCS, the Chartered Institute for 2015/16.

9.45    Using the customer journey to inspire business transformation - Steve Tennant, Director of Customer Experience, Virgin Trains.

Steve will reveal the winning impact for Virgin Trains when they took apart the customer journey in order to lift the experience at each stage, delivering change through employee empowerment and an agile test and learn culture.

10.30    Transforming the organisation to work collaboratively with other care providers – Mark Watson, Chief Technology Officer, Brighton and Hove City Council.

Mark will talk about how Brighton is transforming the way it delivers services by collaborating with other local care providers. Mark will reveal how this works in practice and the impact on technology and business processes.

What are the challenges faced by organisations coordinating multiple agencies to achieve a common goal.

11.45  Case Study: How your policies and procedures need to adapt to support new ways of working - Barry Pirie, Director of People and Business for Wiltshire County Council 

Barry will discuss how Wiltshire County Council has adapted its working practices to share resource, infrastructure and facilities with the police and other local service providers. This will include the policies and procedures in place to ensure a joined-up regional approach to service delivery and other new ways of working.

Roundtable A: Joining up local services. Suitable for delegates working for local service providers that want to look at how they can improve working with neighbouring authorities and regional services.

Eddie will look at how technology and data sharing can reform local government and improve local and national public services.

Our panel of experts will look at the different IT and business areas the organisation can look at to improve the customer experience and transform how the public sector delivers services.
