Houses of Parliament

  • House of Lords: Lord Martin of Springburn (Crossbench, Life Peer) died on 30 April; Lord Temple-Morris (Labour, Life Peer) died on 1 May.
  • House of Commons: John Woodcock suspended as Labour/Co-operative, now sits as Independent.

Government departments

  • Department for Health and Social Care: Advisory Committee on Clinical Excellence Awards – Stuart Dollow appointed as chair from 1 June for three years; Care Quality Commission – Ian Trenholm to replace David Behan as chief executive in July.
  • Ministry of Justice: Sentencing Council for England and Wales – Alpa Parmar and Beverley Thompson-Brown appointed as non-judicial members; Tribunal Procedure Committee – Gabriella Bettiga appointed as a member.
  • Cabinet Office: Office of Government Property – Janet Young appointed as chief property officer.
  • Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy: Regulatory Policy Committee – Brian Morgan, Laura Cox, Stephen Gibson, Andrew Williams-Fry and Sheila Drew-Smith appointed as members, and Jeremy Mayhew reappointed.
  • Ministry of Defence: Defence Equipment and Support – Simon Bollom appointed as chief executive from 21 May.

Devolved authorities

  • Welsh Government: National Academy for Educational Leadership – Sue Davies appointed as chair, John Graystone, Stephen Hagen, Michael James, Rosemary Jones, Paul Marshall, Davina Payne and Claire Williams appointed as members.
  • Northern Ireland Government: Civil Service Commissioners for Northern Ireland – Deirdre Blakely Toner appointed as chair from 1 June.
