Executing successful digital transformation projects

The UK government is getting better at digital. Earlier this year it topped the UN’s e-government ranking for the first  time, and high-profile successes such as the creation of GOV. UK contributed to savings of almost £4bn between 2012 and 2015.

The UK government is getting better at digital. Earlier this year it topped the UN’s e-government ranking for the first time, and high-profile successes such as the creation of GOV.UK contributed to savings of almost £4bn between 2012 and 2015.

This success, however, has come by focusing on exemplar front-end projects and the underlying infrastructure to support digital change. To realise the full benefits that new technology can bring to public services, departments must now tackle fully transformational, end-to-end projects.

These large-scale projects bring huge opportunity, and greater risks – which is why learning from the successes and failures of previous digital projects is vital.

To support this process, CSW and global digital transformation specialists Cognizant are hosting a round table bringing together senior officials from across central government to consider the following question:

How can departments successfully deliver large-scale digital transformation projects?

Attendees will discuss the relative importance of factors such as skills, culture, regulation and policy change.
