George Osborne's spad enjoys significant pay rise

George Osborne's most senior special adviser received an 18% pay rise over the last year, information released by the Cabinet Office revealed yesterday.

Rupert Harrison, who has been heavily involved in devising successive public sector pay freezes and deficit reduction measures, had his pay boosted to £95,000 from £80,000 as a result of his appointment by the chancellor to the Treasury Council of Economic Advisers.
