The plan says departmental communications teams should “pool resources where this makes sense”. Speaking in an interview with PR Week, executive director of government communications Alex Aiken said there will be efforts to “move from the position of having separate digital teams and press officers” – a move that the plan notes has already occurred in the Treasury.
It also calls for better evaluation of communications spending, and sets out government’s key communications priorities for the coming year.
