Navigating the New Procurement Landscape

Civil Service World has partnered with Crown Commercial Service to host a practical webinar to help civil servants navigate the changes and realise opportunities.

The UK public sector spends around £300bn annually on public procurement for goods, works, and services. The rules governing how that money is spent will change on 28th October with the introduction of the Procurement Act 2023. The new regulation has been designed to create a more efficient, transparent, and flexible system which meets the needs of the public sector and its suppliers while also promoting economic growth, sustainability, and social value.

Civil Service World has partnered with Crown Commercial Service to host a practical webinar to help civil servants navigate the changes and realise opportunities. Together with a panel of procurement experts from across government, including from the Cabinet Office’s Transforming Public Procurement programme, we will discuss how departments can prepare for the new rules and help deliver the hoped-for benefits.

Discussion points include:

  • What's changing and what are the expected benefits
  • How to use new processes to enhance procurement outcomes
  • How Crown Commercial Service is approaching the transition and how departments can align their own work to the CCS programme
  • Learn about the five key workstreams for preparation
  • Practical advice on what actions to take now, including reviewing commercial pipelines, engaging stakeholders, and updating SOPs
