The challenge of delivering data maturity for the UK government
Over the past few years, the UK government has remained focused on building more consistent, agile, reliable, and secure data and digital foundations. However, as part of its bid to transform the delivery and experience of digital public services, departments still need to surmount long-standing, systemic challenges, as a new research-led report reveals.
Total Politics, in partnership with Iron Mountain, surveyed almost 400 UK civil servants in 2023, exploring the use of data, data storage and access within UK government organisations, with a focus on senior-level decision makers (SCSs, grade 6/7).
This report uncovers three core themes and provides key considerations to improve efficiency and deliver seamless, integrated digital experiences to the public.
