Government’s Initiatives like the National Data Strategy and the Functional Data Standard show commitment to leveraging data and AI for improved decision-making and service efficiency. However, there's a gap between initiatives and reality. Research by Civil Service World and data & AI provider SAS reveals only 28% of civil servants are aware of the standards for data sharing and just 10% of departments are fully compliant or actively implementing these standards.
The research also shows that only 13% of civil servants see significant progress in data transparency and sharing culture, and just 14% note the necessary processes for data sharing are in place.
Gaps also appear in adopting innovative technologies. Despite media and high-level discussions about AI as an enabler of efficiency and personalised services, 60% of civil servants report little to no progress in this area.
In this practical webinar, brought to you in partnership with SAS, a panel of senior officials will share their experience using data to enhance decision-making and service transformation. The panel will examine barriers to AI implementation and share best practices for effective data-sharing processes, fostering collaboration within and beyond the public sector. We’ll also share key findings and recommendations from our exclusive research.
Discussion points include:
- Overview of the current state of data sharing across government.
- How standardised and streamlined data-sharing processes can help departments improve citizen services.
- The barriers to progress and how to overcome them.
- What innovative approaches can be implemented to foster greater data transparency and efficiency?
- Creative solutions to overcome budget constraints and enhance technical capabilities.
