Sir Bob Kerslake, the head of the civil service, has established a blog and an account on the social networking site Twitter, so that he can better engage with civil servants across the UK and the globe.

In his first and only blog post, written two weeks ago, he said he wants the blog to help provide “an insight into my world and the things that I get involved in.” His blog can be found at: http://www.civilservice.gov.uk/all/head-civil-service

Sir Bob also created a Twitter feed, @SirBobKerslake, which at the time of going to press had 1,527 followers. This sees much more frequent updates, with Kerslake using it to respond to civil servants’ queries, share photographs of his garden and discuss his holiday plans.
