Government seeks leader for ‘transformation’ of civil service workforce data
Cabinet Office-based post is ‘a high-profile role at the centre of key strategic decision making’

The government is seeking a senior analysis professional to head up a drive to expand and deepen its analysis of the civil service workforce.
The recruitment process for a head of HR analysis service and insight comes as the government begins “to analyse our workforce in increasing levels of detail”. This examination covers “not only on the current workforce but also diversity and the ageing demographic”.
The job will be based in the Cabinet Office, where the chosen candidate will directly lead the Civil Service HR Data and Analysis team, and will also help oversee “the wider Cabinet Office Analytics and Insight” function.

“The role will include strategic and analytical insight of HR services and the wider civil service workforce,” the Cabinet Office said. “The postholder will need to champion the strategic use of data, analysis and insight to support decision-making in CSHR. It will oversee the delivery of quality research and analysis of recruitment, learning and broader HR data, to support the continuous improvement of central HR services.”
It added: “The role will lead a cross-functional transformation of the CSHR analytical capability, running a phased programme of work focused on delivering immediate demands for analysis, organisation and process design activity needed to position the function for the future and the definition of technical and tooling requirements to support this delivery.”
The government is seeking an analyst with “extensive experience of data-led transformation” play a major role at the centre of “key strategic decision making” about the civil-service workforce.
The successful applicant, who will earn up to £70,877 a year, will report into the head of digital and data analysis. Applications are open until 18 November, with interviews scheduled for the week of 10 December.
