Total Events | Diversity & Inclusion is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Civil Service Race Forum (CSRF) to support the delivery of Ethnic Minorities into Leadership, an event designed to strengthen leadership capability and support career progression for ethnic minority civil servants.
This partnership reflects a shared commitment to developing inclusive leadership pipelines across the Civil Service. While ethnic minority talent is present at every level of government, progression into senior leadership roles remains uneven. Ethnic Minorities into Leadership aims to address this by creating structured, practical, and confidence-building development opportunities.
The event provides a dedicated learning forum where participants can:
- Build leadership confidence and practical capability
- Explore real career pathways into management roles
- Engage in honest discussion about barriers and progression
- Connect with peers and leaders who have navigated similar journeys
By combining skills-based training with lived experience and networking, the event moves beyond conversation and into action.
Kiren Kaur, head of the D&I Portfolio at Total Events, commented: "This partnership with the Civil Service Race Forum is about creating structured access to leadership development. Ethnic minority talent already exists across the civil service. Our focus is on building confidence, reducing barriers, and making progression both visible and achievable."
Justin Placide, Lead at the Civil Service Race Forum, said: "We are proud to partner with Total Events to deliver Ethnic Minorities into Leadership. This initiative is about more than training; it is about unlocking potential, strengthening leadership confidence, and creating clearer progression pathways. When we invest intentionally in diverse talent, we strengthen the Civil Service as a whole. This partnership reflects our shared commitment to turning aspiration into development and opportunity."
Beyond the event itself, the partnership will capture insights and participant feedback to shape future activity, ensuring that leadership development continues to be informed by the lived experience and genuine needs of ethnic minority civil servants.
