Specialist PMI provider and mutual insurance society, CS Healthcare, is pleased to announce the appointment of Adrian Fowler as Sales & Business Development Leader

22 Feb 2018

The appointment follows a broad review of the Society’s Sales, Marketing and Distribution Strategy in conjunction with award-winning strategy and transformation consultants, Curzon & Company.

Adrian joined CS Healthcare late last year from global insurance provider ACE, where he was Commercial Director, with responsibility for refining and progressing the sales strategy for protection and health insurance products in the employee benefits worksite market.  He brings substantial experience and expertise from ACE and his former roles, which includes a lengthy spell with Assurant Solutions, where he was European Marketing Director.

Adrian will focus on CS Healthcare’s strategic growth priorities – deepening and broadening the Society’s relationships within the civil and public services, as well as the new target markets of Education, Charities and Not-for Profit organisations.  He will be reviving relationships within the broker community and will have direct responsibility for building and leading CS Healthcare’s internal and external sales force to drive this strategy forward.

Commenting on the appointment, James Parker, Chief Executive at CS Healthcare said, “Having completed a broad review of our Sales, Marketing and Distribution Strategy, we have provided our Board and Executive Committee with a clear plan as to how we will deliver the Society’s organic membership growth targets over the next three years.

“We have been keen to build our market share across the broad Public Sector for some time, and an exercise in market segmentation, as part of our review, has revealed significant opportunities for growth in occupational sectors complementary to our core Civil Service membership – namely Education, Charity and Not-for-Profit organisations, NHS/Health workers, the Emergency Services and Armed Forces.  Building a strong sales team, with experience in health insurance and B2B business development, is fundamental to our success in delivering the targets set, and to building our membership base in these key sectors, so I am delighted to welcome a seasoned insurance professional of Adrian’s standing to the Society at this time.”

On joining CS Healthcare, Adrian said: “Healthcare has rarely been higher on the news agenda.  I am pleased to be joining the Society at such an exciting time, am eager to get started in deepening our existing relationships and broadening our reach to new partners in complementary sectors, and to building a successful sales team and culture.”

About Civil Service Healthcare Society Limited (‘CS Healthcare’)

CS Healthcare is a specialist provider of private medical insurance.  Established in 1929, the Society has been providing those who work in or have previously worked in the Civil Service, public sector or charitable and not-for-profit organisations, with comprehensive cover for more than 80 years.

CS Healthcare is a mutual friendly society, and as such has no shareholders; run solely for the benefit of its members, surplus funds are used to ensure the Society’s premiums remain competitive in the industry.  CS Healthcare prides itself on the delivery of a high level of personal service, the direct access it provides to its helpful and professional UK-based staff and its reputation for handling correspondence, requests and claims in a prompt and efficient manner.

This focus on service, which is subject to on-going monitoring, manifests itself in high levels of customer satisfaction with no less than 90% of members¹ happy to recommend CS Healthcare to friends and family.  Whilst many choose the Society for its competitive pricing and all round great value cover, it is unquestionably the high levels of personal service which ensures they are happy to stay with the Society, with 97% of members considering the overall CS Healthcare service experience as ‘excellent’ or ‘good’¹.

Readers voted CS Healthcare the ‘Most Trusted Health Insurance Provider’ in the ‘Moneywise Customer Service Awards 2017’, (the Society won the Award in 2016 too) – and in recent surveys undertaken by consumer champion Which?, asking those with individual and group policies to rate Private Medical Insurance providers on the basis of customer satisfaction, the Society has twice topped the table.

CS Healthcare offers a wide range of cover options.  Its’ flexible and comprehensive your choice plan enables members to create their own package of health insurance protection according to the level of cover they require and/or the amount they wish to spend.  HealthBridge is a lower cost health insurance solution, which helps to bridge the gap between private health and the NHS; the plan provides members with quick access to important diagnostic tests, treatment and surgery, whilst avoiding lengthy NHS waiting times.

As a mutual society, CS Healthcare delivers a number of member advantages:
• shareholder-free – the Society provides a representative approach to strategic development, product design features which are more customer-focused and a greater sense of fairness towards members than competitor organisations serving shareholder interests;
• stewardship and longevity – organisations which have been in business for long periods of time demonstrate stability and tend to show a focus on the long-term interests of customers;
• financial inclusion – products are designed to have competitive premiums, making products and services more accessible;
• caring – the mutual governance structure enables the Society to exhibit responsible ethical behaviour, to treat staff well and to be fair to customers and all stakeholders in its business.
