Rachel Neaman, the department’s digital leader, introduced the new website at Civil Service Live in London. The site provides advice on using online tools, such as Facebook, Twitter and blogs, to improve policymaking.

“One of the things we want to ensure is that policymakers are using the power of digital – not only to consult on policy, but also to make that policy in the first place,” Neaman told CSW.

She added that the site also includes examples of DH using digital tools and techniques, as well as a “series of how-to guides”.

The page has been developed by the department’s own digital team, using standards set by the Government Digital Service.

Neaman has also called on web users to leave feedback on the beta site, which is available at www.digitalhealth.dh.gov.uk/digital-policymaking.
