Speaking during a question and answer session at Civil Service Live, Simon Whale, NS&I’s new business consultant, said he’d held informal conversations with chief procurement officer John Collington – who is now set to leave government (see p3).

“The next phase of the shared service agenda will branch into grant payments,” said Whale. “We will look to get involved with that.”

The new Civil Service Reform Plan promises to execute existing plans for shared services by 2014, and to publish by October plans to share other services including legal services and internal audit.
