  • Foreign and Commonwealth Office: Sarah MacIntosh has been appointed Permanent Representative to the United Kingdom's Delegation to NATO.
  • Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs: Graeme Cooke appointed as Deputy Chief Veterinary Officer from January.


House of Lords

  • Lord Wade of Chorlton (Conservative, Life Peer) retired on November 1.

House of Commons

  • Stephen Phillips (Conservative, Sleaford and North Hykeham) resigned as MP on November 4.

  • Dame Susan Bruce will replace John McCormick as Electoral Commissioner, Scotland

  • Finance and Constitution Committee – Dean Lockhart replaced Alex Johnstone as member.

National Assembly for Wales

  • Public Accounts Committee – Neil McEvoy replaced Rhun ap Iorweth as a member.
  • Constitutional and Legislative Affairs Committee – Lord Elis-Thomas appointed as a member.

Local Authority by-election Results November 3

  • Aberdeenshire Council – Iain Taylor elected for Banff & District – Conservative gain from SNP.
  • Aberdeenshire Council – Colin Clark elected for Inverurie & District – Conservative gain from Liberal Democrat (although former councillor had become independent).
  • Cardiff Council - Tariq Awan elected for Grangetown – Plaid Cymru gain from Labour.
  • Eastleigh Borough Council – Nicholas Couldrey elected for Fair Oak & Horton Heath – Liberal Democrat hold.
  • Gloucester Borough Council – Clive Walford elected for Longlevens – Conservative hold.
  • London Borough of Hackney Council - Yvonne Maxwell elected for Hoxton West – Labour hold.
  • Lancashire County Council - Sobia Malik elected for Burnley Central East – Labour hold.
  • Medway Council – Jan Aldous elected for Rainham Central – Conservative hold.
