  • Competition and Markets Authority: Jonathan Scott to be interim chair.

Devolved authorities

  • Welsh Government: Eluned Morgan appointed as minister for mental health, wellbeing and the Welsh language, allowing Vaughan Gething to focus on coronavirus response as minister for health and social services. Her former International Relations responsibilities now come under first minister Mark Drakeford’s portfolio.
  • Scottish Government: Scottish Enterprise – Steve Dunlop to stand down as chief executive.
  • Scottish Parliament: Education and Skills Committee - George Adam replaced Alasdair Allan as a member; Finance and Constitution Committee – Alasdair Allan replaced George Adam as a member.
  • Northern Ireland Assembly: Standards and Privileges Committee - Sean Lynch replaced Colm Gildernew as a member; Audit Committee - Emma Rogan replaced Emma Sheerin as a member.

Local Authorities:

  • By-election result 8 October: Comhairle nan Eilean Siar – Grant Fulton elected for Na Hearadh agus Ceann a Deas nan Loch – Independent gain from Independent (Finlay Cunningham resigned); Basingstoke Council – Russell O’Keefe to become Chief Executive, replacing Ian Boll who is in the role on an interim basis.
