Government departments

  • Department for Education: Student Loans Company Ltd - Stephen Campbell has been appointed as chief information officer.
  • Foreign and Commonwealth Office: Christian Turner has been appointed British High Commissioner to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in succession to Thomas Drew.
  • Department of Health and Social Care: Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency - June Raine will become interim chief executive from 20 September.
  • Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government: Homes England - Mark Rennison, Olivia Scanlon, Sadie Morgan and Vanessa Murden joined as members.
  • Home Office: Mark Thomson is to resign as director general, UK Visas and Immigration and director general of HM Passport Office in March.
  • Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy: Pubs Code Adjudicator – Paul Newby to stand down as Pubs Code Adjudicator in May.

Devolved Authorities

  • Welsh Government: Sport Wales - Rajma Begum, Dafydd Trystan Davies, Hannah Murphy, Nicola Mead-Batten and Delyth Evans appointed as members of the board.

Local Authorities

  • By-election Result 22 August: Rugby Council – Glenda Allanach elected for Rokeby and Overslade – Liberal Democrat hold (caused by the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Nick Long).
