CSSC’s Active Wellbeing returns in February

CSSC’s flagship Active Wellbeing challenge returns this February, calling civil servants to move more, feel better and build healthier habits together

CSSC’s annual Active Wellbeing challenge returns in February with the support of HM Government, encouraging civil servants nationwide to take positive steps towards improving their physical and mental wellbeing.

Starting on 1 February, for the third consecutive year, participants will embark on the popular Around-the-World challenge, working together in teams to travel the globe as quickly as possible, with every activity contributing to the team’s overall total.

However, participants will get an enhanced experience through the introduction of a brand-new platform powered by Personify Health TM, giving members the opportunity to maximise their wellbeing, build healthier habits, and stay active with ease.

After a record-breaking 2025, which saw more than 35,000 civil service and public sector participants take on the three challenges across the year by walking, swimming, cycling and wheeling their way around the world. In total, 5,815 teams racked up over six million steps, journeying through 183 amazing cities worldwide.

  • 82% of participants felt that by taking part in the Active Wellbeing campaign, they were able to introduce healthier daily habits.
  • 78% of participants said that Active Wellbeing helped them build healthier habits they’re actually stuck with.

Active Wellbeing, the UK’s largest physical activity and wellbeing campaign, is designed to break down barriers and motivate civil service and public sector members to be more active, supporting improvements in overall wellbeing.

Fiona Ryland, Government Chief People Officer said: "I wholeheartedly endorse CSSC and the valuable services they provide to civil servants. Their commitment to promoting sport, health, and wellbeing through initiatives like 'Active Wellbeing' supports the overall health and morale of the workforce. CSSC’s efforts to engage civil servants and their families in active and social activities help build a healthier, more connected civil service community."

Devi Virdi, CSSC interim CEO added: “The Active Wellbeing challenge is a fantastic initiative to get more of our members moving in a way that is inclusive and exciting to them, particularly in the workplace. I would highly encourage anyone looking to incorporate new habits in 2026 to sign up to the challenge and learn more.”
