UK Government

New Cabinet Committees 

  • Afghanistan Resettlement Committee – Chaired by chancellor of the duchy of Lancaster and minister for the Cabinet Office Steve Barclay.
  • Domestic and Economic (Operations) Committee – Chaired by chancellor of the duchy of Lancaster and minister for the Cabinet Office Steve Barclay.
  • Global Britain (Operations) Committee – Chaired by minister of state at the Cabinet Office Lord Frost, deputy chair is paymaster general Michael Ellis
  • Global Britain (Strategy) Committee – Chaired by the prime minister Boris Johnson,  deputy chair is minister of state at the Cabinet Office Lord Frost.
  • Government Priorities Delivery Committee – Chaied by prime minister Boris Johnson.
  • Health Promotion Taskforce – Chaired by secretary of state for health and social care Sajid Javid,, deputy chair is chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster and minister for the Cabinet Office Steve Barclay.
  • National Science and Technology Council – Chaired by prime minister Boris Johnson, deputy chair secretary of state for business, energy and industrial strategy Kwasi Kwarteng.
  • Union Strategy Committee – Chaired by prime minister Boris Johnson, deputy chair secretary of state for levelling up, housing and communities and minister for intergovernmental relations Michael Gove.
  • Office of the Secretary of State for Scotland: Tom Harris appointed as lead non-executive Director for three years. He has also been appointed lead non-executive director for the Office of the Advocate General for Scotland for three years.

Devolved Authorities

  • Welsh Government: Centre for Digital Public Services – Harriet Green and Myra Hunt appointed as joint chief executives.
  • Northern Ireland Executive: Northern Ireland Medical and Dental Training Agency – Derek Wilson appointed as non- executive chair until a date not later than 30 September 2025.
  • Northern Ireland Assembly: Executive Office Committee – Sinead McLaughlin added as chair; Colin McGrath discharged as chair; Economy Committee – Matthew O'Toole added as deputy chair; Sinead McLaughlin discharged as deputy chair; Infrastructure Committee – Cara Hunter added as member; Dolores Kelly discharged; Health Committee – Colin McGrath added as a member; Cara Hunter discharged; Public Accounts Committee – Cara Hunter as a member; Matthew O’Toole discharged.

Local Authorities

  • Flintshire County Council: Neal Cockerton appointed as chief executive, replacing Colin Everett at the end of October.
  • Kingston Council: Caroline Kerr to stand down as council leader.
  • Mansfield District Council: Hayley Barsby to stand down as chief executive on 9 January 2022.
