Government depatments

  • Prime Minister's Office: Mrs Justice Whipple appointed as a Lady Justice of Appeal and Mr Justice William Davis and Mr Justice Snowden appointed as Lord Justices of Appeal.
  • Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport: Gambling Commission – Marcus Boyle appointed as chair from 5 September for five years; Office of Communications (Ofcom) – Angelina Fusco and Michael Wilson appointed as members of the Advisory Committee for Northern Ireland. Ashe Hussain appointed as member of the Advisory Committee for Scotland; Theatres Trust – Patrick Dillon appointed as interim chair from 1 September to 31 December 2021.
  • Department for Education: Education and Skills Funding Agency – John Edwards has been appointed as the interim chief executive.
  • Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs: Animal Health and Welfare Board for England – Professor Jonathan Statham appointed as  hair from 1 November.
  • Department of Health and Social Care: Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency – Dr Junaid Bajwa, Professor Graham Cooke, Dr Paul Goldsmith and Raj Long appointed as non-executive directors on the board for three years. Haider Husain appointed as a non-voting associate non-executive director.
  • Department for International Trade: Chris Barton appointed as HM trade commissioner for Europe; Kenan Poleo appointed as HM trade commissioner for Eastern Europe and Central Asia Network (EECAN).
  • HM Treasury: UK Infrastructure Bank – John Flint appointed as chief executive from 27 September; National Savings and Investments (NS&I) – Christopher Fisher's term as a non-executive Director on the board has been extended for six months to the end of February 2022.

Devolved Authorities

  • Scottish Parliament: Education, Children and Young People Committee – Willie Rennie appointed a member to replace Beatrice Wishart; Rural Affairs, Islands and Natural Environment Committee – Beatrice Wishart appointed a member to replace Liam McArthur.
  • Scottish Government: Patrick Harvie (Green MSP) appointed as minister for zero carbon buildings, active travel and tenants' rights, reporting to the cabinet secretary for social justice, housing and local government and the cabinet secretary for net zero, energy and transport; Lorna Slater (Green MSP) appointed as minister for green skills, circular economy and biodiversity, reporting to the cabinet secretary for finance and the economy and the cabinet secretary for net zero, energy and transport.
  • Welsh Government: Sue Tranka appointed as Wales's chief nursing officer; Natural Resources Wales – Professor Calvin Jones, Mark McKenna and Paul Griffiths appointed as members to the board.

  • Oldham Council: Harry Catherall appointed as interim chief executive.
