UK government

Prime Minister's Office: Privy Council – Lucy Rigby (chief secretary to the Treasury) and Rhun ap Iorwerth (first minister of Wales) appointed as privy counsellors on 10 June. The Reverend Elizabeth Burke appointed as canon of Windsor.

Department for Business and Trade: Office for Investment – Parminder Kohli appointed as chief executive from 1 October.

Ministry of Defence – John Healey resigned as secretary of state for defence on 11 June; Dan Jarvis appointed as defence secretary. Was previously minister of state for security at the Home Office and minister of state at the Cabinet Office. Al Carns resigned as minister for the Armed Forces on 11 June. Rachel Hopkins and Pamela Nash resigned as parliamentary private secretaries on 11 June. Defence Housing Service – Natalie Elphicke Ross appointed as interim chair.

Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs: Environment Agency – Alan Lovell to stand down as chair in December.

Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office – Vicente Solera Deuchar appointed as His Majesty’s ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic from August, succeeding Nicholas Bowler.

Department of Health and Social Care: Independent Reconfiguration Panel – Professor Simon Brake appointed as interim chair until 31 March 2027.

Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government: Planning Inspectorate – Ben Alexander appointed as chair of the advisory board for four years from 1 July; Adrian Penfold and Oliver Munn’s terms as board members for one year until September 2027.

Ministry of Justice: Preventative Analytics for Youth Justice Advisory Panel – Professor Raymond Arthur, Harry Collins, Professor Neal Hazel, Dr Gemma Morgan, Professor Marion Oswald, Professor Claire Paterson-Young, Richard Vaughan and Hazel Williamson appointed as voluntary members.

HM Treasury: Office for Budget Responsibility – Dame Susan Rice to stand down as non-executive member on 19 June; Baroness Hogg re-appointed as non-executive member until 19 June 2027.

Department for Work and Pensions – Dame Sarah Healey appointed as permanent secretary from July, succeeding Sir Peter Schofield.
