Government departments

  • Prime Minister's Office – Lucy Winskell OBE appointed Her Majesty's lord lieutenant of the County of Tyne and Wear on the retirement of Susan Winfield CVO OBE on 18 May. 
  • Cabinet Office: Council of the Duchy of Lancaster – Lucy Macdonald and Jill May appointed as non-executive members from 24 February. 
  • Ministry of Defence – General Sir Patrick Sanders KCB CBE DSO ADC Gen appointed as chief of the general staff, succeeding General Sir Mark Carleton-Smith KCB CBE ADC Gen from June.  Ministry of Defence Police – Jason Gwillim appointed as assistant chief constable, territorial, crime and support from the end of March. 
  • Department of Health and Social Care: Care Quality Commission – Ian Dilks OBE appointed as chair, following the Health and Social Care Select Committee's hearing. 
  • Ministry of Justice: Independent Monitoring Boards – Dame Anne Owers’ tenure as national chair extended from 1 June to 31 May 2023. Lay Observers’ National Council – John Thornhill’s tenure as chair extended from 1 June until 31 May 2023. 

Industry  

  • Shared Services Connected Limited – Mike Driver, former head of the Government Finance Function and senior official at Ministry of Justice has been named as independent chair of the SSCL Board, providing strategic oversight and governance
