Union appeal on judicial review

The civil service trade unions are appealing against a High Court ruling that upholds the legality of the government’s decision to link public sector pensions to the CPI measure of inflation rather than the more generous RPI measure.

Two separate appeals have been lodged, following the failure of the unions’ judicial review.

The PCS Union has launched an appeal with Unite, Unison and other unions. Meanwhile, the FDA has launched its own appeal with Prospect, GMB, and the Civil Service Pensioners’ Alliance.
