Meet the winners of the Vodafone Techstarter Award 2018/19
Vodafone have announced the eight winners of the Vodafone Techstarter Social Innovation Award 2018/19.
When we launched the Vodafone Techstarter programme with our partners, Social Tech Trust and the Vodafone Foundation (UK registered charity 1089625), we were on a mission to find and support some of the most inspirational and transformational ideas in UK social innovation. To help UK social tech ventures grow and thrive, we set out to establish an award that would not only provide some financial support but also crucially offer industry and technology expertise to help bring innovations to market. Today we are proud to see our mission materialise as we unveil the winners of the Vodafone Techstarter Social Innovation Award 2018/19.
Our winners were selected based on their incredible ingenuity and the potential impact of their technology in one of the following key areas of society; health and well-being, education, social mobility, and the environment. These eight for-profit and not-for-profit ventures will each receive £35,000, along with access to valuable guidance from our tech industry experts. They will also have the opportunity to network with leading investors, policymakers, entrepreneurs and technologists at the awards ceremony in London.
Lettus Grow and Reality Check will also receive the Vodafone Techstarter Champions Award, voted by Vodafone employees across the UK. They will each receive an additional £10,000 to take their startup and innovation to the next level of success.
Congratulations to our winners! We also want to send a big thank you to all of our entrants for making the competition a great success. We have a strong group of innovators in our Techstarter community – your talent, drive and dedication will surely inspire future generations to use technology for good.
